I had one of those "is this real life?" moments at work today. A co-worker mentioned she has two Nubian-Boer does sheās willing to trade... and the price? Just a few lessons on the art of soap making!
Iāve been dreaming about adding goats to the homestead for over a year now, and it feels like the universe finally tapped me on the shoulder. But before we back up the truck, I want to bring you all into the fold. Help us make this big decision!
Why Goats? Why Now?
Aside from the fact that their chaotic personalities would likely keep the whole neighborhood on their toes (and entertained!), goats are the ultimate multipurpose addition to a self-sufficient lifestyle:
Garden Gold: Their manure is incredible fertilizer for our raised beds and garden layers.
The Pantry Boost: With grocery costs constantly climbing, having a reliable source for milk (and eventually meat) is a huge step toward food security.
The "Fun" Factor: Letās be honestālife is just better with floppy-eared friends jumping around.
What Do You Think?
